Diamonds are tiny little pieces of heaven. Even if you aren’t in the skies, holding one in your hands could give you a feeling like you are. It calls out to you so that you never want to let it go. Well, that’s why so many people pay so much for it. Plus, it doesn’t break easily at all. What a gem!
If you have ever seen a diamond before, will have a good idea why it is so expensive as a jewel. If you have touched one before, you never again want to let it go. If you have the money to afford a diamond ring, I know you'll want one on your finger.
Diamonds take numberless years to form at the very debts of the earth. They are organic matter that have decomposed and reformed to form perfect pieces. This perfection, in jewel form, is what we all pay great monies to own because it is so beautiful.
You would have to travel up to 150 km (93 mi) into the bowels of the earth to experience the creation of a diamond. Hard as man has tried, they have not been able to duplicate that. And so diamond remains the hardest material on earth, and the most priceless of jewels.
No one blames anyone for wanting to own a diamond jewel; we all do. Save for those who have never even come close to the gem, everyone wants to own a few diamonds, or at least one. It is why the world is the way it is; ugliness looking for beauty within itself.
You can find cratons in the cores of most continents. They are the homes of the diamond, consisting areas that have been geologically inactive for 2 billion years and longer. And when you mine the diamonds, you become by right the most enviable person on the planet.
There are a number of places you could find diamonds. There are cratons, there are volcanic rocks, and they are waterbeds of streams that flow from volcanic sources. In some instances you find them also in sandstones and conglomerates. Whatever it takes, as long as you can lay your hands on earth’s most priced precious stone.
Volcanism brings substances from the bowels of the earth to the surface. It is how diamonds travel from where they are made, close to the earth's core for ages, up to where we can mine them, and convert them into the jewels that we cherish so much.
