Defragment and put life back to your Hard Disk

You suddenly begin to notice a steady drop in the speed of your system without any clue as to what may have gone wrong with your system. Data that should easily be processed by your system now takes minutes to load and process. Yes all these are happening and you seen not to know what to do. This is the most common puzzle that a computer newbie may by pondering about as he or she begins to notice a sharp decline in the speed it takes for the computer to process an easy task. Well, this is typically what your experience will be if you don’t defragment your system.

The system hard disk is the workshop of our computers and that’s where most of the temporarily files are stored over time. When these files have been stored for too long you will begin to notice that your system begins to respond in a funny manner. Just like you take care of your car engine, it is also expected of you to carter for your hard disk the same way. The hard disk drive needs regular or periodical tuning to keep it in top shape. This is necessary if you need the hard disk to always perform its operations without hitches and any form of interruption.

Defragmenting your system is really easy and should not be something that should cost much. Most systems now come with in built Defrags facilities which can be run from time to time. Below are some very good instructions to help you maintain the optimum performance of your hard disk.

As you may have observed over time, when you boot your system, it takes a while for the short-cut icons and other saved items on the desktop to come up. What you need to do in this case is to act swiftly by deleting some of those icons if they are not of any use to you because; they help slow down your Hard Disk.

Defraging your hard Disk ensures that files created are properly and easily located during a system search by the computer. When you fragment your server or computer hard drive, the speed not only increases sharply but the whirring sound of the hard drive will be gone as this is a usual sign of a heavily loaded hard drive.

When a website is visited from a particular computer, you should know that some content of that website is instantly stored in the folder of the internet temporary file of the system. This stored file is also known as cache. This temporary stored file from the internet also makes use of some available storage space of the system, which in turn reduces the speed of the Hard Drive. So ensure you delete the file through the tools function of internet Explorer after visiting a website.

For a system Hard Drive to be adequately defragmented the Hard Disk must have nothing less than 15% amount of free disk space, in order for the Disk Defragmenter to be able to completely defrag the hard disk. There is no short cut to the Defragmental rule, which states that for a system to be defragmented there must be 15% or more free Hard Disk space.

So, if you need your system to continue to serve you as expected, as well as giving you quality response in data processing, you must ensure that your system is defragmented periodically.
